Shepard-9 was manufactured during the Golden Age of Humanity and overtime, became one of their most powerful defenses with his trademark gun which he ended naming the Vex Mythoclast. Once The Collapse occurred, Shepard-9 was off-lined until Werrak reactivated Shepard when he found him on the outskirts of the City. Overtime, Shepard became close friends with Werrak and Eva Levante and even calling them his family. Eventually, Shepard was chosen by Ghost who he often called Ashley and was stationed on the Moon for several years and fought back Fallen and Hive from The Ocean of Storms with a couple other Guardians including an Exo named Theos and an Awoken named Kermos.
