  • Zavala: The day we've been dreading has finally arrived. The Darkness is Here. We need boots on the ground on Io. Recon. There's a pyramid. It's already disabled Rasputin. I'd lean on Eris' expertise but we haven't been able to reach her. We both know what that means. Eris is our best chance at understanding what we're up against. I need her at the Tower. She's too valuable an asset to... Find her, Guardian. Bring her home.

{Gameplay}

The Guardian lands in the Lost Oasis on Io.

Ghost: Eris Morn. A Guardian without a Ghost. I wonder how that must feel. Hollow. Unnatural. When I look at that ship... Eris, can you hear us? Eris? Nothing. Zavala, come in.

Zavala: Any sign?

Ghost: My signals are being suppressed. I can't even summon a Sparrow.

Zavala: What do you see?

Ghost: The pyramid. It's... oppressive. Like a storm moving in.

Travel to the Rupture.

Sagira: Are you sure there's a map of the Infinite Forest here?

Ikora: If the Vex are trying to reshape the future, the Pyramidion is part of the plan. The map has to be here.

The Guardian activates a plate which spawns a conflux.

Sagira: I know a trick with that conflux.

Sagira begins actively scanning the conflux.

Ikora: Brace yourself for the Vex welcoming party.

Sagira finishes with the conflux and a circular door slides open.

Ikora: ... or not.

Sagira: With me, you get the shortcuts.

The Guardian descends into the Pyramidion while Ikora and Sagira talk.

Ikora: Sagira, I know we didn't leave one another on the best of terms...

Sagira: You led the group that exiled my Guardian. I didn't like it. But people weren't ready to hear what Osiris was saying back then.

Ikora: It wasn't just his prophecies. He never understood there was more to being a Warlock than being the smartest person in the room.

Sagira: Osiris has changed. You're still the same by-the-book Ikora I remember.

Ikora: I'm not so sure about that. Losing my Light was revealing. I see now I need to be more than I was. Maybe we all do.

The first set of Vex enemies appear. There are Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Fanatics across multiple platforms that phase into reality.

Sagira: Great. Looks like Ikora was right. My scans show the Pyramidion does receive data from the Forest. I've got the location of a conflux where we can access it.

The Guardian pushes through the Vex toward a gate.

Sagira: I can reprogram that warp gate. It should get us close to the conflux.

Once the room is cleared, the gate activates.

Sagira: Calculations are ready. All you gotta do is go through the hoop.

The other side of the gate puts the Guardian in a small hallway with a barrier at one end and a small open space. There is no conflux.

Sagira: Well... that didn't work as well I as expected.

Ikora: The Sagira I knew would never admit to anything less than Osiris level perfection.

Sagira: Ikora, here's a secret: No one has lived up to Osiris' reputation. Not even Osiris.

The Guardian finds another gate. On the other side is a steep slope headed down to a pit. Approaching, the pit is shielded and a Cyclops appears on top. Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Minotaurs appear to guard the pit. Once they are defeated, the barrier drops, allowing the Guardian to progress. The area turns into a no respawn zone before the Guardian touches the bottom.

Sagira: I can tell that the conflux is somewhere nearby. But the Vex must be cloaking it.

There are two plates on either side of the area. When the Guardian steps on one, enemies spawn in.

Sagira: Lookout! We've got incoming!
