Court of Oryx is a location within the Dreadnaught orbiting Saturn. It is the site of a unique Guardian-initiated Public Event that summons an assortment of powerful enemies.
Points of Interest
The main feature is the Public Event that takes place here.
Players cannot enter the court proper, as the floor is covered in flames. To enter and initiate the event, one of the players must offer a rune to one of the different statues. The rarity of the runes determine the difficulty of the encounter. The summoner then must stay within the Court of Oryx, or else the boss will despawn after 15 seconds. There are three tiers of difficulty: The first tier pits players against a boss or bosses with a single mechanic, such as shields with changing element types. The second tier features multiple bosses. The third tier features raid-difficulty bosses.[1] After the boss has been defeated, a chest appears in the middle of the room. The player who sacrificed the runes will get the highest reward, but all players who participated, including those who joined outside the initiating player's fireteam, will receive a reward.[2] The last person to place a rune will be prevented from placing another for 40 seconds, allowing another person to place a rune and initiate the event.
Bosses
- Alzok Däl, Gornuk Däl, and Zyrok Däl - A trio of Taken Wizards that can revive each other if they aren't killed quickly enough.
- Bracus Horu'usk - A Taken Centurion whose shield can only be taken down by eliminating all enemies.
- Cra'adug and Mengoor - Two Taken Knights whose shields only weaken when they are in close proximity to each other.
- Krughor - A Taken Ogre that can only have its shield brought down by Cursed Thrall explosions.
- Vorlog - A Taken Knight with rotating shield types.
