Following the conflicts with the Nightmares, Vex and Cabal, the Almighty is discovered falling towards the Last City. To defend the City the Seraph Towers were activated by Rasputin, catching the House of Dusk's attention. The Fallen rush to the Towers to see if they could reverse-engineer them, forcing the Guardians to protect them. They would later find out through the Towers that the Fallen have gained a new arsenal through the use of Overload ~~Captains~~ and Barrier ~~Servitors~~, but the origin of them are unknown.
