You place the specimen in one of Failsafe's new research bays.

"Hello, Captain! I have undergone an almost full upgrade! That includes improved specimen analysis…having favorite colors…and friendship. I hope you will appreciate all three."

Failsafe 3.0 is raring to get going with her new research bays and expanded capabilities.

Step 1

Vex can be found in many places through the system, but particularly on Nessus.

• Defeat Vex with Solar damage to weaken their armor plating and expose more memory cores. This specimen's memory core shows signs of being updated by an outside user. Other Vex should be checked for similar signs of manipulation.

Step 2

Enter Breach Executable on the H.E.L.M. to collect data for Failsafe's continued research.

• Secure the data Failsafe needs by completing Echoes Encore, Echoes Battlegrounds, or collecting Extracted Data in the Breach Executable activity from the H.E.L.M. This prototype was enhanced with manipulated data to expand its memory. Failsafe requires more ambient data from interactions with Vex to continue her work.

Step 3

Vex drop their CPUs when rapidly defeated.

• The specimen has been manipulated in unexpectedly complex ways. Failsafe has run out of data to compare it to, and could use a fresh batch. Rapidly defeat Vex to acquire a large sampling of their CPUs.
