'''Praedyth''' was a [[Warlock]] who had been part of [[Kabr]]'s fireteam during their assault on the [[Vault of Glass (location)|Vault of Glass]]. Praedyth himself was believed to be a myth; [[Praedyth's Timepiece]] and [[Praedyth's Revenge]] were the only pieces of evidence of his existence until the [[Vanguard]] discovered a message coming from the Vault during the [[Taken War]]. However, they were unable to rescue him from the Vault, and he would remain trapped in time.

==Biography==
Praedyth, alongside his teammates Kabr and [[Pahanin]], would participate in the [[Great Ahamkara Hunt]] on [[Mars]]. Together, the fireteam took on a half-dozen [[Ahamkara]], taking the form of [[Wikipedia:Wyvern|wyverns]], much to Praedyth's joy to fight alongside. ===Trapped in the Vault===
Praedyth would later join Kabr and Pahanin in their raid on the Vault of Glass. However, he would be trapped in it by the Vex. He tried his best to evade them and survive, which he managed while frequently creating messages in the hope that someone would receive them. In these messages, Praedyth detailed who he was and his journey with Pahanin and Kabr, claiming the Vault had taken its toll on them, with Pahanin talking to himself and Kabr becoming "intense at times." He would also take notice of [[Taken|creatures]] approaching the heart of The Vault to take control of the Vex's Collective. His time in The Vault ended when he heard the Vex "closing the door." Praedyth cried out that he lived and was a real person within the Vault, already understanding his fate. Despite this, Praedyth seemingly survived, displaced in time in an isolated cell deep within the Vault. From there, he would attempt to send transmissions calling for help in the brief windows when the door to his cell was opened. He would also observe the Vex to get a better understanding of them until he was free. ===An Uncertain Fate===
Several centuries later, Praedyth's messages escaped the Vault and reached the Vanguard. Ikora would send the Guardian on a mission to the Vault to stop the Taken detailed in Praedyth's messages. Once in, the Guardian tracked the signal from the messages deep into the Vault and defeated the [[Morphon, Blighted Mind|Taken Mind]] leading the assault, eventually finding a skeleton with a faint signature of Light, believing it to be Praedyth. Despite this, Ikora was thankful that they had reclaimed Praedyth's name from oblivion and that, in a way, he would live on in the Vanguard archives.<ref name="Paradox"/>

The Guardian would continue to explore the Vault, finding another of Praedyth's messages. Following it, they entered a [[Transfer Gate]] and arrived at a point in time where the Vex had been fully Taken by [[Oryx, the Taken King|Oryx]], who had long been dead by this point in time. Praedyth told them that the Vex won't end because the Guardian was there. After defeating the [[Blighted Descendant]], Praedyth told them that the Vex wouldn't spare the City or even thank them. The Guardian would then recover Praedyth's Ghost from the Vault and bring it to [[Lakshmi-2]].<ref name="Paradox"/>
