Geist was a Cloud Strider who was mentored by Maelstrom. They were among several candidates from the Assur Academy to be trained to become a Cloud Strider, which Geist was ultimatly selected to become because of his willingness to help regardless of whether he was a Strider or not. When ten of the other twenty-one kids formed the Uplift Coven, Maelstrom would ultimatly be forced to shoot Geist after he "gave [her] the business better than [she] expected." When she was nearing the end of her ten years, Maelstrom would leave an audio apology and the kill codes for the Sidereal, hoping he would put an end to the Cloud Striders.[1]
