The Forged Pyramid is a Pyramid used by Shin'ra, the Forge Master during the War of the Weavers. It is the main location of its namesake Takedown and the Wrath of Vulcan Dungeon.
Overview[edit]
The design of the Forged Pyramid incorporates both aspects of the Pyramids' haunting, geometric architecture and the Hive's archaic and eldritch structuring. Its profile is similar to that of Hive warships and more specifically the Dreadnaught, which is a rectangular hexahedron along its length, while the ends curve inward like an inverted pyramid. Four main spines protrude from the bow; numerous lesser spines protrude outward from both bow and aft. The ship itself is divided into four separate sections, the second sections moves in a constant clockwise rotation while the fourth moves in a counterclockwise rotation.
The Forged Pyramid is capable of moving in and out of the Ascendant Plane by moving the frontal spikes as the start to converge to the central region of the front, tear open a small rift and then shift outwards, making the rift far larger and allow the Pyramid to move through. These spikes also act as a conduit for the Pyramid's main weapon that is capable of devastating entire fleets in one shot.
The interior harkens the designs that can be found within various other Pyramids but also sports the monolithic architecture seen within Hive strongholds. Statues of Shin'ra and Hive portals can be seen all throughout the ship in recognition of the Hive Disciple and his use of Hive arcana, ranging from chapels, graveyards, hangars and forges.
History[edit]
Origins[edit]
The Forged Pyramid was first created shortly after Shin'ra, the Forge Master had acquired the Echo of Conquests and used its power of Darkness to create the mighty vessel. Shin'ra would continue to use the Pyramid as his command ship to lay siege to the Sol System by coordinating attacks from Pyramid enhanced Hive warships on Neptune, Nessus and Earth.
Guardians of the Last City would eventually locate the Forged Pyramid's coordinates in deep space after attacking the warships directly. A team of twelve would break into the Pyramid and defeat Shin'ra's Dread champions. They would confront the Hive Disciple through a gruesome battle that tested their adaptive skills, eventually killing the Hive Disciple. Though he would retreat to his Throne World in the process, completing a ritual to turn himself into a Worm God.
Under New Management[edit]
Years after Shin'ra's ascension into Set'ak, the All-Maker and his death within his Throne World, whispers of him would reach out towards Nok'Tuur and his forces, compelling him and a cohort of the Shadow Legion to infiltrate the Forged Pyramid in order to take control of the Black Fleet. In order to achieve this, they would use the mycelial network of Egregore and the abandoned crown of Shin'ra to turn the Pyramid into the commanding vessel of the Black Fleet.
