The Taken Chieftain is a type of Taken Scorn.

Gameplay

Much like their base forms, the Chieftains will remain among a crowd of their allies in order to benefit them in any way. The former Void Chieftains utilize a fundamentally unchanged Scorn Crossbow or a slightly modified Scorn Rifle, whose bolts travel at a faster velocity but lose their tracking. Uniquely, the Taken Chieftain here has their Ether-Shield replaced with a Leeching Gaze, which slowly damages a linked Guardian, slowly healing any damage done to the Chieftain or building up an Overshield for the Chieftain themselves. Meanwhile, the former Solar Chieftains are equipped with a straight firing Taken Scorn Cannon or a Taken Scorn Blaster that launches bolts that bounce around twice before vanishing. Instead of an Ether-Torch, they can now project a field of Caustic Ichor that slowly damages and Weakens any opponent within it's area of effect, making them easy pickings for retaliation by the Taken Scorn. Finally, the former Arc Chieftain is now equipped with an impact-exploding Taken Scorn Mine Launcher which creates small burning areas of denial. They can cast a ranged Scalding Effluence blast which deals sheer damage to all within the blast radius, as well as applying burn and the tremor debuff to them; any at a good enough distance are affected with the tremor debuff only; once an opponent is hit by Scalding Effluence, the Taken Chieftain will enrage, and attempt to close in for a far more powerful melee and gain increased damage resistance.
