Overview[edit]

Zuulk, Blight-Shaper is one of Thekmar, the Necromancer's high lieutenants. Once a Skyburners Val, he served on the Dantalion Exodus VI under Primus Ta'aun. Until one fateful day, he was Taken by Oryx. He was bonded with a Taken Hive Knight named Mulgathoor, Fang of Oryx. Overtime, after the death of Oryx in his Ascendant Realm, Zuulk began to regain control of himself. Although the reason on how he regained his will is unknown, what is known is that he took control of Mulgathoor and the Taken underneath them.

Eventually, he finds himself joining Thekmar and his inner circle of Bannertorn lieutenants. There, he made a partnership with Haru'ulk, the Ambassador, an old colleague, and became a rival to Pariphos, the Seeker. With Haru'ulk's help, he managed to enhance Hive with Blight, indirectly "taking" them. Then, under an uncontrolled feeling of ambition, he raided one of Pariphos' labs, leading to a battle called the "Raid of Dark Intents", which killed many in the crossfire. In the end, Zuulk stole data on Blights, which would soon be used as a template for his later project on "Shaping Blight". Zuulk and Pariphos, since that day, became natural rivals.

Soon, after the events of Forsaken, Zuulk and his Taken infested the Dreaming City to test his new project. First, he created Acolyte Eyes, then Shadow Thralls, and soon, horrifyingly accurate Taken opponents, even creating a Chimera. Noticing the problem, Petra Venj put a bounty on his head, and was eventually halted by the Guardians.
