Re: "Egregore" on the Haul[edit]

Just wanted to pop on here to provide some context and rationale for my recent edits regarding the ambiguous Egregore-like stuff on the Haul; I recognize that this has been a point of contention in the past, and I want to be clear that I am not trying to start an edit war or otherwise be counterproductive here- I just think that this is an interesting bit of trivia that should be laid out as clearly as possible.

My reasoning for the edits are as follows:

1. In the article image and third Gallery image, as well as various other images of the Derelict seen from a distance, it can be clearly seen that in addition to the cables connecting the Derelict to the Haul, there is also a large, swirling amorphous mass; in the article image especially, it can be seen that this mass has chunks floating around it, and does not at all resemble any of the cabling/wiring connecting the Haul to the Derelict. However, it does (in my opinion at least) strongly resemble the swirling mass of Egregore (I believe this is confirmed to be Egregore?) behind the main window in the Gambit loading area inside the Derelict, both in coloration and shape.

2. In the aforementioned images, it can be seen that in addition to the cabling, there are numerous thinner tendril-like structures leading from the Haul to the Derelict. These tendrils do not actually touch the Derelict, but rather peel away as they get close to the ship; additionally, they exhibit petal-like structures at their tips which look exactly like the the "petals" on the tips of the Egregore tendrils growing throughout the Derelict. I thus think it is safe to say that, if these growths are not Egregore, they certainly look exactly like Egregore.

3. In the second Gallery image, there is no amorphous mass or Egregore-like tendrils present; the cables visible in this image do not at all resemble the tendrils in the other image, and the misty open space occupies an area that in the other images is covered by the amorphous mass (this is especially visible in the third Gallery image- the mass is right in the center of the cabling, where the open space is located in the second Gallery image). I thus think it is inaccurate to state that the cables connecting the Haul to the Derelict are the same as the Egregore-like mass/tendrils shown in the other images; they are quite visibly distinct, and the mass is very conspicuously absent in the second Gallery image.

I think it would be best to rephrase the relevant trivia segment as the following:

In some images of the Haul, a mass of swirling amorphous material sprouting tendrils closely resembling those of the Egregore found throughout the Derelict can be seen on the side facing the Derelict. However, during gameplay sequences where the Guardian enters the Haul from the Derelict, the amorphous mass and tendrils are not present; instead, there is a misty opening leading to the pocket of Unknown Space within the Haul. The significance of this is unclear.

Thoughts?

Works for me, I've incorporated your proposed edit with a modification into trivia as there's otherwise nothing else saying Egregore is part of The Haul in the article proper other than trivia. This should satisfy everyone. --stickΔαντε τηε Γηοστ Ι ωονδερ ιφ Ικορα γιϝες ηυγς το Γηοστσ. Ηεη... ανψωαψς, νιξε ωορκ. Τηις ις ωηατ Ι υσεδ. 08:32, August 31, 2025 (EDT)
