During the exploration section, Independent Subroutines roam the area. When slain, they are considered special targets and award 100 points to the salvage bar and leave an additional cache of salvage that awards another 150. As their name implies, Independent Subroutines do not have reinforcements and tend to wander apart from other encounters unless they happen to walk into one while battling or seeking to battle an opponent. After they return to a neutral state while amongst an encounter, they tend to stay within that encounter during their wander phase afterwards unless battling or charging to battle an enemy takes them out of the encounter's area.
