'''Banes''' are a combatant-oriented PvE [[modifier]] introduced in [[Episode: Revenant]] that grants a special ability to any combatants except for [[Champion]]s and bosses. These Banes are found exclusively in higher difficulty activities like Legend Nightfalls and are randomized. Banes are identified by a colored orb or arc floating above their head. They can also be noted by their lack of shield as all Banes lose their [[Absorption Shield]]s. Even combatants who gain one in higher difficulty activities. Prior to Edge of Fate, all Banes could still have Absorption shields.
