Steps[edit]

Step 1[edit]
Eido's Tonic Laboratory contains everything you need to create paracausal tonics to aid in your battle against Fikrul and the Revenant Scorn.
- Select a tonic to brew at the Tonic Table.
- Tonic selected
Step 2[edit]
Eido would like you to create your first tonic.
- Create a tonic using the equipment in the Tonic Laboratory.
- Tonic created
Step 3[edit]
Now that you've created a tonic, return to Eido to learn more.
- Return to Eido in the Last City to show her what you've learned.
- Eido visited
Eido's many eyes shine with excitement when you return with your first tonic. "Great work! Now that you're familiar with tonics, let's try something more complicated: batch brewing!"
She digs around in some satchels on her belt and withdraws a small drawstring bag. "This should be enough to brew a few more. Our repurposed Walker should be able to process everything in that bag all at once."
She pauses for a moment. "Once you're finished here, you may want to stop by the holoprojector, Variks mentioned he'd reach out soon. I hope it's good news."
Step 4[edit]
Eido would like you to try a batch brew of tonics. The Tonic Table and the Tonic Laboratory should have everything you need.
- Using the Tonic Table and Tonic Laboratory, create multiple tonics at once. As long as you have the reagents, you can create multiple tonics at once! To do so, simply select more than one at the Tonic Table before you begin.
- Batch brew completed
Step 5[edit]
Eido mentioned Variks would like to speak with you at the holoprojector. She hopes it's good news.
- Listen to Variks at the holoprojector.
- Holoprojector visited
- Variks: Variks sees… suspicion in the Slayer Baron. Can they trust Variks? Perhaps he still desires to be Kell of Kells, yes? After all, many died to make it so. It is true that Variks wanted power. Not for himself, but for all Eliksni. To build a new home, filled with peace. But Variks lied. To himself, and his people. He was misled by Darkness. And he lost the way of his House. And many terrors were born of his failure. Now Variks is humbled. He remembers, he is not a Kell. He is a Scribe. House Judgement is not the way of fighting or ruling. It is the way of keeping history. Promoting justice. Teaching hatchlings. So Variks will train Eido. And together, Scribes will undo… The many wrongs of Variks, the Loyal.
"Variks sees suspicion in the Slayer Baron."
"Can they trust Variks? Perhaps he still desires to be Kell of Kells, yes?"
"After all, many died to make it so."
"It is true that Variks wanted power. Not for himself, but for all Eliksni. To build a new home, filled with peace."
"But Variks lied. To himself and his people. He was misled by Darkness. And he lost the way of his House."
"And many terrors were born of his failure."
"Now Variks is humbled. He remembers he is not a Kell. He is a Scribe!
"House Judgment is not the way of fighting or ruling. It is the way of keeping history. Promoting justice. Teaching hatchlings."
The following dialogue is available from speaking with Mithrax in the Last City:
- Mithrax: I greet you in the Light, Slayer Baron. I grow restless in these quarters… Yet here I must remain. You have our faith, Guardian. Mine, and that of my daughter. I do not know Riis as Eramis does, or as my own mother did. I must concern myself with our new home. [growls] Liars. Liars and deceivers, all… The purest light. The darkest hour. The time is at hand, Guardian.
Step 6[edit]
After your holo call from Variks, Eido may have news for you regarding the development of her tonics.
- Speak with Eido in the Last City.
- Eido visited
Eido clasps two of her hands together, glad to see you, as you approach. "Your progress with tonics has been astounding, Slayer Baron." She hunches slightly.
"But Fikrul is still at large, and a shadow continues to loom over my father."
"Crow remains adamant about keeping Eramis confined. I'm worried he's hindering a key source of help for us… At least we have you on the field helping my people. You always manage to find a way out of the dark. House Light and the Vanguard scouts are on Fikrul's trail. I'll let you know when we've found something."
"Thank you for everything you've taken on for us, Guardian. I have more to ask. We can bolster my tonic research to create more potent mixtures to aid you if you'll help me with the fieldwork to gather resources and lab equipment I'll need."
"Eramis has also informed me that House Salvation is missing an Apothecary named Ixis in the wake of Fikrul's attacks. If you'll do me the favor of helping to search for her while you're out in the field, I'm sure she could expedite my research. I'll benefit you in this struggle against Fikrul and it may even help my father and his condition."
Step 7[edit]
Eido would like us to complete some minor fieldwork so she can help us with tonic development.
- Obtain and complete two minor fieldwork tasks. For every two minor fieldwork tasks completed, you may choose a major fieldwork task to pursue. Visit Eido to browse available fieldwork.
- Minor fieldwork tasks complete
Step 8[edit]
Eido would like us to complete some major fieldwork so she can help us with tonic development.
- Obtain and complete a major fieldwork task. Major fieldwork tasks recover technology that can be used to upgrade the Tonic Laboratory and can be pursued in any order.
- Major fieldwork task complete
Step 9[edit]
With some major fieldwork complete, Eido would like to speak to you in the Last City.
- Return to Eido in the Last City.
- Eido visited
Eido squints happily at you. "Your support is many-armed as always, Guardian! Every success out in the field opens up opportunities to create more tonics or find new lab equipment."
"House Light and Hunter Vanguard scouts are tracking Fikrul across the Sol System."
She looks at her feet.
"We've been searching the region in every Eliksni enclave he attacks. I'll let you know when we find something. In the meantime, my people need you on the frontline against the Revenants."
Step 10[edit]
Eido has left a message for you in the Last City. She may have news pertaining to Fikrul and his Revenants.
- Your tracker reports that Eido has left a message for you in the Last City, near Eramis's cell. Hear what she has to say.
- Message heard
- Eido: Guardian, your battles against the Revenants to save Eliksni captives from a fate worse than death… It's like one of our old fables! I’ve learned so much about our lost homeworld lately. About how Ether flowed through all the plants and animals there. Not just the Eliksni. But for every drop I learn there's a whole tank-full that was forgotten. That's why it's so important we learn from the few survivors, like Variks… and Eramis. I know you and Eramiskel share animosity, as my father would say. But she’s more than a leader, or a fighter, or a criminal. She's a rare link to the secrets of Old Riis. I encourage you to put aside the past, and let Eramiskel help us. Or we risk making her the last of the Eliksni.
Step 11[edit]
Reach out to Eramis at the holoprojector in the Last City.
- Speak with Eramis at the holoprojector in the Last City.
- Holoprojector visited
- Eramis: Tell me, Guardian: Is this a gratifying sight, or a frustrating one? You strike me as someone who appreciates finality. Not so your Hunter Vanguard, it seems. I am grateful for one thing: no Salvation Captains share my cell. This remains a private humiliation. Eido claims you will defend both our Houses against Fikrul's beasts. So, here it is, Slayer Baron: I know of another Salvation outpost. The Eliksni there cut communications shortly before my incarceration. If any yet live, it seems likely they too are under threat. I once believed anything would be preferable to accepting your assistance. I have Fikrul to thank for illuminating me. I hope to demonstrate my gratitude in person before the end.
Eramis wonders if it's gratifying for you to see her imprisoned.
She's glad she hasn't been imprisoned with Salvation captains, so her humiliation can remain private.
Eido has convinced her you're willing to defend Eramis's people against Fikrul, so she has the location of a hidden enclave for you to visit-and possibly protect.
Step 12[edit]
Eramis has given you the location of a Salvation enclave in the Sol System. The coordinates seems to lead to Kell's Grave, one of Drifter's old haunts…
- Help Eramis's people in the mission "Something Left to Say."
- Mission completed
- Note
See Something Left to Say for a transcript of the mission.
Step 13[edit]
Your Vanguard tracker reports that there's a message broadcasting on Last City local frequencies addressed directly to you. Head there to intercept the message.
- Head to the Last City to find clear reception for a message broadcasting on local frequencies.
- Message heard
- Variks: Troubled times, Guardian. You fight well. Every day new survivors come to Misraakskel for protection. But the Scorn come like a tide. They swarm the Reef. They build in secret, using the bones of old ruins. Ketches full of prisoners vanish into the belt. Useful prisoners, yes? Many who might help us, if we retrieve them swiftly. But Variks does not yet know where— Guardian?
- Fikrul: Dead thing. Slayer Baron. Why fight for the Fallen? You and I know the truth. These old names, these stories… so easy to burn away. But you and I survive, again and again, to fight one another. You took Father from me. Just as you took my friends. As you took everything! But you give… new purpose. [laughs] When I am Kell of Kells… I will find a way to hurt you.
Step 14[edit]
You've faced off against Fikrul and he refuses to back down, despite your and Crow's best efforts.
After your encounter, you received a personal message that Fikrul somehow broadcast on Last City local channels, swearing he would pay you back for taking his "father." You should fill Eido in on the situation.
- Return to Eido in the Last City.
- Eido visited
"Thank you for following up on Eramis's intel," Eido intones as you enter her lab. "And thank you for saving as many Eliksni as you did, with Fikrul getting to that enclave first. A Salvation cell had been holed up there, hoping Fikrul would pass them by." She sighs.
"I know you and Crow did your best-I just wish peace had been a possibility. All the more reason to leverage Eramis's help for the good of those still living."
She pulls several finished tonics from the open mouth of the repurposed Walker. "I'll coordinate with Crow to have scout groups searching for Fikrul's base of operations. He must be gathering Revenants somewhere. We'll be in touch."
