The Vanquisher VIII is a legendary auto rifle exclusive to the New Monarchy. While comparable to the Shadow Price, the popular Vanguard-issued auto rifle, some prefer the Vanquisher specifically for its "Perfect Balance" upgrade, which lowers its recoil significantly. The Vanquisher also has a lower magazine capacity, but more than makes up for the fact with its very fast reload, one of the faster reloads in the game. To acquire the Vanquisher VIII, a player must first obtain the New Monarchy Class Emblem and then wear it until ranked up to Level 3 with the New Monarchy. This goes rather quickly, for the points the character normally earns in both the Crucible and the Vanguard apply to the New Monarchy. The player is warned, however, that only Crucible Marks can be used to purchase New Monarchy goods.
