Jesus, I'm looking at some of this stuff and it's all asking for it to be in specific formats. Fucking M$ wants you to buy their products if you ever want your damn games to work again.

Awright, tried it on the disk, didn't work. Might've been that it was a DVD-R, ( :? ) so I went to find another disk, but all we have are DVD-Rs and CD-audios. So, I guess my only option is so sand down the sides of my flash drive.

Ah. That's a design flaw, isn't it? :/

Awright, my flash couldn't fit between that plastic that's upraised and surrounding the fflash drive, so right now I'm burning the files to a cd.

Welp, just finished that homework, so I'm going to try it now. Wish me luck!

Well, I was able to download maps off the fileshares of some of the THFE guys, so I think it'll work. I hope it does :|

Hard Drive, sorry. Just wondering whether the downloading problem will still be there. :P

HDD? Also, actually haven't done it yet. Got some school work to catch up on. But once I finish this thing I'm gonna go try it.

Will that fix the problem? Or will the HDD still be a bit glitchy?

Woot, I can put it on the flash drive and plug that into the xbox! Thanks! I had figured that I would be able to use the flashdrive as a harddrive and.... ok, it just finished downloading, and it's a folder. fucking macs. Ah well, we have other computers, and it still might work like this. But to finish what I was saying, I figured I could just use the USB as the hardrive to download the update. Oh, btw there wasn't an error code, but from the page you sent me, I found this. That is some handy stuff, MS. There is no way I'll have to replace my xbox.

I wouldn't do it yet though. Contact Xbox! xD

Don't give up on your Xbox yet. As I say, it might just be an easily fixed glitch. Did your xbox give an error code? Anyway, check here first, you might find a workaround or something. :)

I actually have a USB, though I'm not sure if its big enough... thnks for the help, though, I'll have to try that. It'll be a bit before I get to it, so don't hold your breath. Give it an hour or so.

It should do. That link has a few pointers. Just plug it in, check "storage" and your device and it should give you a prompt (I would think), or, alternatively, you could buy one of these, which is already configured (maybe a waste of money, if any USB can be used). :)

Yeah, played some ODST a few days ago. ... Does this work with any USB? Assuming it has enough storage space of course.

S/PDIF is audio, I'm afraid. Transferring data is usually done through the USB ports, It's quite easy to transfer data from the HDD to a USB stick, etc. So you could transfer everything of it, if you wanted. Is the Xbox working fine offline?

Ok, I saw three usbs, the outputs for the hdmi and whatever you call the white-red-yellow chords, two openings for wired internet, and one plug that caught my eye. It'd be hard to describe just due to lack of details, but above it it did say S/PDIF.

Yeah. Plus, lots of my games are on my hard drive. Reach, minecraft, halo wars, crysis, plus all the map packs. It'll really suck if I have to replace it. I'm gonna go check it, see if there's any plugs I don't recognize.

I have no idea. If it was the Original, I'd have a little bit of experience. But with the slim, I don't really know. Sorry. :(

I would suggest contacting Xbox though, before getting rid. :P

I guess it's slim then, 'cause the hard drive seems to be inside the xbox. My xbox is the one on the right, btw. Can you plug hard drives into the slim? If you can that would solve my problems.

This or this? I was just wondering as the Original has a separate Hard Drive, and the Slim has an internal one.

I have no idea. Got it about a year and a half ago. Came with the harddrive installed, has the old red-white-yellow cords and an HDMI port, two controller plugs, one of the sides has those slits for the fan, and it's pretty much rectangular, though the front is angled in just a little bit. Does that help?

Which kind of Xbox is it? Original or Slim?

Eh, maybe. But before this happened I had tried downloading some maps off waypoint and it didn't work. Didn't get around to trying again after clearing up some space, but still. Also, when I tried to download the TU it said I couldn't because I didn't have a hard drive, which isn't true.
