You don't hear very good things about those forums on the Bnet. Lots of stuff about how you get banned whenever you say anything bad about 4.

Shame on you. Do you still not go on Bnet much? I'd advise that you do, there's lots of great conversation on there. Try as I might, this site is not an ideal social hub.

343 has officially screwed itself over. Apparently the pop in 4 at any given time is only about four thousand just a few months after release. Still, we've got Destiny, and lots of people on the forums are talking about bf4.
I know we have trees... I was on the map before... My point is still valid. Still no pretty landscape. :P
Oh. I guess it's a kind of double-edged sword. Offending the competitive community by making it easier for "noobs" to take their crown with aim-assist and ordnance, while offending those with a disability (as shown in that thread). Bah. Lovely. :/

I'll be honest, I wasn't really focusing on how people were offended by it. I was mostly focusing on the gameplay. My bad, I guess.

It's from the GDC. They actually showed that. It's sort of become our rallying cry. They were using it to show how the game is easier for new players, but it's sort of become our rallying cry against their absurd ordinance and aim assist. Viva la revolution!
Not at all. I am (or more aptly, was) a Forger. What I would have preferred is a more varied landscape. I actually like those "damn mountains", and liked to incorporate them into my maps. But I guess that's just down personal preference. These Flat discs do little for me in terms of landscape, and there are too few of the larger rocks included in the palette to make much difference. Able to make a new Blood Gulch? I don't think so. :P
Besides, (I don't know whether this is just my overall bias, whether someone else's review has imprinted bias, or whether it is actually true) the palette seems to have gotten more bland. There is little variation from white, instead of the varied textures of the palettes of others.
Again, I guess it's juts down to personal preference. But.. What's that? If it's from the GDC, I only got into the stream rather late. :P
What you say on forge island just means you're not a forger. This is what we've been asking for: flat terrain, lots of open space. Just a blank canvas for us to forge on. We can build the entire map from the ground up, with no damn mountains in our way. I hear there's even some good space inside the islands you can get to with a teleporter set to phased.
... But just... fuck those guys.

Oh, God. 343's GDC was awful, embarrassing even. It's a shame really. Forge Island isn't great either. Three discs of land with a load of empty space just doesn't really do it for me. :/

Ok, tried the update, the disk told me my box was up to date, sent me back to the main screen, and then I was told to update. I take this to mean that the file I got isn't the most recent version of live. Damn shame. I guess I'll wait a few more day and then try again. Sent in a complaint so maybe that'll speed it up.
Oh, heh, I already forgot about working on those new userboxes. As for the xbox, I'm working on it right now. I got it to accept the disk, but it said I was up to date so I think they must've not put the update on the site when I downloaded it. So, I opened up my board with you to go find that link again. More information soon. And if you want to take one or two of the userboxes go ahead. I was gonna do them myself though so if you want to do something else, go ahead. 343's GDC was a trainwreck but I still envy you for forge island.

Alright, I took a look at the userboxes with the new insignias, and I think they actually looked worse with them. Feel free to check it out, tell me what you think, but for now I think they should stay the same. I'll get to work on the race userboxes.

And look at the disk download method. You need a damn windows laptop for that. Or, y'know that... winzip thing.... does that cost anything? I may not have thought this rage out very well.
It's all a marketing technique. Using internal HDDs, having tiny USB ports, only allowing certain USB drive formats... :/
