The Accursed Swordbearer is a unique variant of the Swordbearer that appears only in the Pit of Heresy alongside Zulmak, Instrument of Torment. They are special lieutenants of the Hive champion who are also vital in being able to vanquish the Instrument of Torment.
Gameplay
Accursed Swordbearers will spawn periodically throughout the Zulmak boss encounter at the latter's command, with a sole purpose of overwhelming the Young Wolf. The player must defeat these Swordbearers to use the Cleavers they drop in order to destroy the various entities around the arena: the Might of the Broken Blade, Omen of the Broken Blade, and Oracle of the Broken Blade. The player must melee, snipe, or reflect according to each of the mini-bosses respectively.
Trivia
- The Accursed Swordbearer bears a striking similarity in appearance to Sardok, Eye of Oryx.
- This either means that Sardok was once a Swordbearer or that the latter belonged to the Blood of Oryx Hive brood.
