Encountered in both fights against Agraios, Inherent and Iatros, Inward Turned, these units are essential to either reach a damage phase proper and stall a wipe mechanic respectively. During the Agraios boss fight, five of these units will appear upon the elimination of an [[Ultra]] ranked [[Hydra]] to support the advanced [[Hobgoblin]] frame, and can be recalled upon the elimination of another Hydra that might appear later. Upon their death, they will drop a Chronon that can be acquired by a Guardian, which must be taken to one of five of the rings in the center of the arena to charge it up. During the Iatros encounter, a squad of six will join the [[Wyvern]] on the central platform to support it, and their dropped Chronons must be taken to a ring-mounted Hourglass next to the middle platform to fill it up. These Time's Burdens' Chronons are essential to prevent Iatros from gaining an Antibody Response and killing the Guardian Fireteam, with more sporadically appearing in different corners of the arena, whose Chronons must be used to top off the hourglass.

Upon defeat, the Time's Burden will drop a Chronon that must either be taken through a series of hoops to power up Alignment Charges to repel Agraios' devastating Variable Elimination attack, or taken through a hoop-mounted hourglass to forestall Iatros' Antibody Response.
