The Hearsay section of M.I.N.D. features entries related to mysteries in the Red Sea Rift.

Veridia Files: The Mystery of Gareth's Fall[edit]

The fall of former Lord Gareth has been one of the Red Sea Rift and Veridia's greatest mysteries for the past few decades. To this day, no one knows how the Iron Lord who was once praised for prioritizing mortals' feelings became the most brutal of human settlement rulers. Eventually, the situation became so grave that Lord Radegast had no choice but to confront him.

Some rumors point to Gareth's lantern, with people saying they once witnessed him muttering to it day and night. Yet still, there were many who defended him, believing excessive taxation and tyrannical rule to ultimately be aimed at maintaining Veridia's independence. His fall was equally controversial—it's said he disappeared entirely during a conflict with Lord Radegast. His dead Ghost suggests he met a tragic end, but for some reason, Radegast has never made a public statement.

The Union Leader's Absence[edit]

Harrow went from an unknown representative of Veridia's miners to a widely supported union president. Those familiar with her claim she's the best listener in the world—no matter how you express your demands, no matter your language used or posture, she'll understand your true thoughts and respond in the most empathetic way possible. However, in the past few months, Veridia's leader of seems to have found herself in some mysterious spiritual crisis. She's has become elusive, rarely appearing in public and even refusing to respond to the residents' most ordinary and humble requests. Some curious people speculate that she's been secretly meditating and training near Prism Lake, which has been the location of strange loud noises both day and night.

The Red Sea's Scars: Legend of the Python and Sentinel[edit]

The Red Sea Rift and Veridia Forest are home to two particularly remarkable sites—a pair of massive remains. We know that one of them is a Golden Age creation known as a Sentinel, while the other can only be inferred from its winding skeletal structure to belong to some kind of reptile, temporarily referred to as a "python" here.

It's said that here, they engaged in a brutal duel before meeting their demise. The python ripped off the Sentinel's left arm of the giant statue, throwing the limb into the seabed several kilometers away, while the Sentinel's axe cleaved a hole in the python's chest. Energy burst out from the two giants' wounds, instantly evaporating the Red Sea's waters and forming the landscape of today… Since no one who witnessed this battle firsthand survived, however, one can now treat it as a sort of myth.

What Lies Behind the Door[edit]

Though I'd rather not say it… It seems that there are secrets in the red Sea Rift that humans have yet to uncover, even in places as close to Veridia as the Weathered Caves.

The Cabal legion's soldiers are gathering here, and their target seems to be a sealed "door" (to use concepts humans are more familiar with), as well as whatever lies beyond.

AWOL Commander, Sand Eaters in Conflict[edit]

When the highest command of the Sand Eaters, Zau'ul, suddenly disappeared with no apparent reason, chaos overtook the Cabal's internal affairs. Two important officers, Field Commander Buhr and Forgemaster Tog'urk, began competing for command of the Red Sea Rift firebase. It's difficult to determine whether this disagreement is a general power struggle or a difference in military development strategies. Tog'urk, who prefers to solve problems with steel and flames, uses giant drilling rigs and smelting plants day and night to seize metals and minerals and transform them into war machines. For reasons yet unknown, though, Buhr has tightened his grip over the supply of Radiancite, and he's shown a clear interest in the Sentinel's remains.
