==Fallen==
An extraterrestrial race [[Human/Rising|humans]] called the Fallen, but who refer to themselves as the Eliksni.

Once a peaceful and noble race living on the planet [[Riis/Rising|Riis]], they too were enlightened by the [[Traveler/Rising|Traveler]] until it came to [[Sol System/Rising|Sol]]. With its blessing, the Eliksni enjoyed their own [[Golden Age/Rising|Golden Age]].

However, a catastrophic event they called the "[[Whirlwind/Rising|Whirlwind]]" would nearly destroy their civilization, leading to their fall from grace.

==House of Devils==

A Fallen House that invaded [[Jiangshi Metro/Rising|Jiangshi Metro]].

After the first wave of their attack was thwarted by the [[Iron Lords/Rising|Iron Lady]] at the cost of her own life, the [[House of Devils/Rising|House of Devils]] started to plunder and destroy Jiangshi Metro. Like termites, they leave only destruction in their wake.

Unlike the other Houses, many of the Devils have modified themselves with electronic implants and have more harmonious relations with machines like [[Servitor/Rising|Servitors]] and [[Shank/Rising|Shanks]]. The elder of the House of Devils must be a fan of technology.

==Riis==
The home planet of the Fallen before they "fell."

The Eliksni describe it as something akin to the Garden of Eden, with all the lakes and rivers carefully planned to flow between lush fields, and towering buildings blended in with the mountains. Vessels sped through the pink sky in an orderly fashion. Every inch of the entire planet looked as if it had been carefully carved out and polished by a gentle sculptor.

Now, it is but a distant dream.

==The Long Drift==
The Fallen's large-scale migration, which started in pursuit of the Traveler.

When the "Great Machine" left Riis, the Eliksni developed an obsession with retrieving it. At the instigation of some fanatics, they boarded their [[Ketch/Rising|Ketches]] and recklessly pursued the Traveler. However, a lack of consideration and planning quickly depleted their supplies. Then came plunder and war between their Houses.

This would come to be known as the "[[Long Drift/Rising|Long Drift]]"—the Eliksni version of the [[Dark Age/Rising|Dark Age]].

==The Whirlwind==
A catastrophic event that destroyed the once glorious civilization of the Eliksni.

In the fragmented and incomplete accounts from the time, the Eliksni suddenly realized one day that their "Great Machine" had left Riis. Then, the entire planet was engulfed by a hurricane that tore through mountains and oceans, all while a horrific alien army also launched an attack on the entire planet.

Simultaneously struck by both nature and invaders, Riis would ultimately perish.

==Houses==
Fundamental organizations that make up Fallen society.

Humanity has already encountered several Fallen Houses. It is said that they once had names far more elegant than the likes of the "House of Devils," that they were once composed of scholars, engineers, and gardeners… However, over the centuries of spaceflight, conflicts often erupted between the Houses over resources, with many being forever lost in the echoes of the Long Drift.

And the survivors' former identities were as changed and forgotten as their names.

==Ether==

A substance necessary for the Fallen's survival.

[[Ether/Rising|Ether]] is a cold, fluorescent substance that exists in a gaseous state at ambient temperature. This substance once existed in abundance in Riis's natural environment, but can now only be created by Servitors.

If its supply is sufficient, the Fallen can grow to a very large size. Its dearth has greatly weakened the physical strength of the Fallen. Were it not for the shortage, mankind may be facing even more formidable foes.

After they left Riis, the social order of the Fallen shifted to one based on a limited chain of Ether distribution—the [[Prime Servitor/Rising|Prime Servitor]] creates the Ether, the [[Archon/Rising|Archon]] maintains the Servitor, and the Kell holds the power to distribute it. The nobles are allocated a large amount of Ether, while the lower-ranking members are given just barely enough to survive.

Although the Kell is the nominal ruler, the Archon and the Prime Servitor also wield great influence, resulting in a delicate balance between the three heads of the Houses.

==Kell==
The title enjoyed by the political and military leaders of the Fallen Houses.

In addition to handling the internal politics of their House and commanding the military, the Kell also controls the House's Ether distribution. This is the basis of their power, with sufficient sustenance allowing them to be close to the physical limits of the Fallen in terms of size. Typically, in the "dog-eat-dog" society of the Fallen after the Long Drift, the Kell is the most powerful warrior in a House.

==Archons==
A mechanical cleric leader in Fallen society and one of the three leaders of a House.

They serve as the conduit connecting the Fallen and their mechanical creations, communicating the Kell's wishes to the Prime Servitor. As part of their day-to-day duties, they maintain the Prime Servitor as well as keep it safe.

Without the Archon's protection, the Prime Servitor would be left vulnerable, putting the entire House at risk.

==Splicers==

A technological alliance of cutting-edge scientists among the Fallen.

Back in the Golden Age of Riis, the [[Splicers/Rising|Splicers]] were engineering sects, religious in nature and without actual power, composed of pioneering scientists who worshiped the Great Machine and controlled the vast majority of the Eliksni's high-end technology. However, after the Whirlwind arrived and the Long Drift began, these controllers of Riis's legacies found themselves being pulled by forces on all sides. The techno-priests dispatched to the major Houses gradually rose to higher ranks, particularly the Archons.

A technological alliance of cutting-edge scientists among the Fallen.

Upon realizing that the major Houses in the Long Drift were using Riis's legacies to fight amongst themselves, the Archpriests of the Splicers convened and came to the consensus that control over technology was imperative to preventing the Eliksni from destroying themselves before they could retrieve the Great Machine. Thus, the techno-priests would determine the level of technology available to a House. And so, while the Splicers had no intention of chasing power, they were secretly and practically influencing the social patterns of their entire society.

A technological alliance of cutting-edge scientists from the Fallen.

As a member of the Splicers, [[Vanok/Rising|Vanok]] transformed the Jiangshi [[Weather Control Facility/Rising|Weather Control Facility]] into a Fulminator capable of creating thunderstorms, perhaps in order to limit the range of activities of the Jiangshi Metro [[Guerillas/Rising|guerrillas]].

The Treasure Hunter [[Sorriks/Rising|Sorriks]] was also operating under Splicer Archpriest [[Issakis/Rising|Issakis]]'s orders, trying to recover an old Riis artifact from the wreckage of the Ketch. The Splicers must be plotting something behind these activities.

=="Eclipse Monolith"==
A Lanyue [[Space Station/Rising|space station]] modified by Issakis, Archpriest of the Splicers.

Once the Fallen fleet arrived in [[Earth/Rising|Earth]]'s orbit, they immediately spotted the towering Lanyue [[Space Elevator/Rising|Space Elevator]]. Every House leader who saw it understood its strategic value. Soon, a battle for the station at the top of the space elevator was fought between the Fallen Houses, and in the end, it was the House of Devils that emerged victorious. After years of modification and operation by the Archpriest of the Splicers, Issakis, it has become one of the most important strongholds of the House of Devils in Sol.

If the [[Eclipse Monolith/Rising|Eclipse Monolith]] is activated, it can attack anywhere on Earth, and the disconnected Space Elevator will fall, crushing Jiangshi Metro and any who fail to evacuate it.

==Eliksni Language==
As the name suggests—the language spoken by the Eliksni.

It often sounds like an insectoid chittering to human ears. Because it relies on the Eliksni's unique vocal organs, only a few particularly talented humans have been capable of learning this language.
