'''Valus Zahu'ul''' is a Cabal Valus of the Dune Raiders who serves [[Forum:Primus Lau'urc|Lau'urc]] as her second in command. He also commands the Legion's '''Testudo Company''', composed of Elite frontline troops for high-priority raids and pushing into enemy territory. As brutal as he is loyal, Zahu'ul will stop at nothing to advance Lau'urc's cause.

==Biography==
Originally a [[Bracus]] of the Skyburners, Zahu'ul often fought alongside fellow Bracuses Lau'urc and [[Forum:Bracus Mu'ull|Mu'ull]] in many campaigns before they arrived in [[Sol]]. While Lau'urc and Mu'ull were deployed onto [[Fleetbase Korus]] on [[Phobos]], Zahu'ul would be deployed to [[Mars]], where he would earn a reputation for being the cause of the final deaths of many [[Guardian]]s during their early exploration of [[Mars]]. While some had managed to leave the Phalanx with some damage and scars, they would still fall to his shield.

During the [[Red War]], Zahu'ul would be recruited into the Red Legion, where he would hunt down and kill Lightless Guardians stranded on Mars. During this time, he would be promoted to [[Val]]. However, following [[Dominus Ghaul|Ghaul's]] death, Zahu'ul would go into hiding and be branded a traitor by the other Cabal. He would only resurface after the mass breakout of the [[Prison of Elders]] when he learned that Lau'urc had escaped, initially believing she died with the rest of the Skyburners on the [[Dreadnaught]].

From then on, Valus Zahu'ul would serve as Lau'urc's second-in-command and one of the best warriors among the Legion. During the [[Clash of the Chosen]], when Lau'urc planned to have [[Forum:Bracus Vanum, Dune Raider|Bracus Vanum]] represent her in the [[Rite of Proving]], Zahu'ul insisted that he go instead. However, Lau'urc told him once Vanum had departed that he was too important to her and the Legion for such a mission.

===Battle of the Vault===

Years later, following the demise of [[the Witness]] in [[the Pale Heart]] of [[the Traveler]] and their failure to claim the [[Forum:Echo of Paracausality|Echo of Paracausality]] from [[Forum:Ouranos, Prismatic Mind|Ouranos, Prismatic Mind]], Lau'urc would depart the Solar System to personally secure a vital asset of the Raiders, taking many of her most loyal and powerful troops with her, Zahu'ul among them. This asset would be located in a vault in an [[Athenaeum World]]. 

Zahu'ul and his company would be dispatched to push into an area controlled by mutated Cabal clones known as the [[Forum:Marred|Marred]].

==Gameplay==
While Zahu'ul possesses a [[Slug Rifle]] similar to those wielded by [[Centurion]] bosses such as the [[Daazaz Dar, Unbowed Legion|the]] [[Mouvurg, Unbowed Legion|Unbowed]] [[Shogmar, Unbowed Legion|trio]], his main weapon is actually his bladed shield which can inflict great damage to Guardians, especially combined with the jetpack on his back to quickly close in on any opponent. He also wears thick armor plating, which

Additionally, Zahu'ul will call in support from both the Cabal in his Company (primarily Phalanxes) and from his Warship. the [[Forum:Glorior Rex IV|Glorior Rex IV]]. At points in the fight, Zahu'ul will call an orbital bombardment from his Warship. When he does, the Phalanexs will move to him, where they and Zahu'ul will form a dome that will protect them from the barrage of missiles from the ship that will instantly kill any Guardians not in cover. Guardians will need to take out enough Phalanxes before Zahu'ul calls a bombardment to leave him vulnerable to it, which will take out his immunity shield and allow him to be damaged.

==Personality and traits==
Among the Chosen of the Dune Raiders, Zahu'ul is almost fanatical in his loyalty to Lau'urc.

Despite this, Zahu'ul is far from an idiot. He is a master strategist, having planned and commanded several operations in service to Lau'urc.
