"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."

Step 1[edit]

The Deputy Commander tasked you with reaping runes from Xivu Arath's forces and using those runes to mark defeated Lucent Hive Ghosts, planting the idea that Xivu Arath has moved directly against her sister and turning the sister against one another.

  • Reap marks of Xivu Arath from Hive forces in the Nether by using Void or Strand to deal final blows.
    • Runes collected: x/100

Step 2[edit]

The Lucent Brood's Ghosts have been crushed, and the scenes of their deaths have been marked with Xivu Arath's runic signature, drawing the Hive sisters into conflict with each other and easing pressure on Eris Morn's throne.

  • Crush Lucent Ghosts or defeat powerful Hive to mark their deaths with Xivu's Rune anywhere in the system. Defeat Lucent Hive on Savathûn's throne world to draw the sisters against each other more quickly.
    • Lucent Ghosts crushed: x/100

"Cut a path of conquests, my heir, and claim what is owed. Aiat."
— Echo of Navigation

Step 3[edit]

  • Return to the Last City debrief at the Shaping Slab.
    • Shaping Slab visited

A message from the Deputy Commander awaits you:

"I bet Savathûn didn't see that coming. She knows her sister won't miss an opportunity to slit her throat. Now she must split her forces being dealing with Xivu and dealing with you. That gives Eris and the Echo a bit more breathing room, at least for now."
