The Vex Combatant Encyclopedia section of M.I.N.D. features entries related to Vex combatants.

Goblins[edit]

A basic Vex combat unit.

The Axis Minds often use Goblins as cannon fodder. A single Goblin doesn't pose much of a threat, but when they work together, they can turn the tides on the battlefield.

Fanatics[edit]

A type of Goblin that appears to have suffered severe damage.

All Fanatics have a disorderly gait, a missing left arm, exposed wiring, and more often than not, multiple scratches and damage on their chassis.

They do not seem to have any purpose beyond spreading corrosive radiolarian fluid.

Hobgoblins[edit]

A Goblin unit modified for ranged attacks.

Hobgoblins fire slow yet precise shots, but lack the means to counterattack when approached. They will enter standby mode and initiate self-repair after sustaining serious damage.

Harpies[edit]

Vex units that fly at high speed.

Harpies are usually deployed by the Axis Mind for disruption and flank attacks. They cannot balance movement and attack, so they must hover in place before entering attack mode.

Imps[edit]

Harpies that have given up mobility in favor of high-precision long-range weapons.

Harpies usually rely on mobility to carry out flank attacks, but their effectiveness is limited against heavily defended or fully armored opponents. To address this shortcoming, some Axis Minds have taken to deploying modified Harpies, or "Imps." What these flying units lose in maneuverability they gain in highly precise firepower. Their limited movement can also be somewhat compensated for with teleportation modules.

Minotaur[edit]

A heavy Vex ground unit.

The Minotaur's heavy armor lets it withstand more firepower and charge into enemy lines for close range, powerful attacks. They even have teleportation modules installed, further increasing their aggressiveness. Once a Minotaur locks onto you, you'll find it difficult to evade its relentless pursuit.

Mazeguard[edit]

Specially modified Minotaurs used to protect the portals connecting the Vex Network and reality.

Mazeguards are highly aggressive and will actively suppress enemies in order to eliminate those who would invade the Network as quickly as possible. They can activate the generators in their arms to create powerful shockwaves, ensuring ignorant would-be trespassers know the folly of their actions.

Asterions[edit]

A type of modified Minotaur.

The integrated chest and waist structure of the Asterions provide better for their radiolarian chambers, as they often coordinate with Cyclops for defensive tasks. But such modification sacrifices their teleportation capabilities. Because of their limited mobility, they are deployed on the battlefield only when specific tactical needs arise.

Cyclops[edit]

Massive Vex units equipped with devastatingly powerful artillery.

In addition to their use as weapons, Cyclops may be the Vex's beacon units. Their large core connects with the Vex Network, providing positioning for other Vex units that crosses space-time.

Hydra[edit]

The Vex's mobile bulwarks, featuring heavy armor and a rotating energy shield.

These giant floating machines are nodes of the Vex's thought-mesh, equipped with broadcast components that can quickly issue instructions to other nearby Vex units. In many cases, the Hydra model is the primary choice for Axis Minds.

Sphinxes[edit]

A particularly unique Vex unit.

The Sphinx has multiple soft, metal tentacles that can extend from its body, with the components at their ends serving both detection and attack functions. Their movement speed is limited by their heavy armor, but the Vex's spacetime technology allows for rapid teleportation, letting them deal devastating and unexpected blows to enemies.
