The Crash is the first story mission in Shattered Past and takes place in the Desert on Earth. After crashing in the Desert under unknown circumstances, the player's unconscious body is hauled from the wreckage of their ship to the sight of several Rangers who invite the player to join them on their way to a remote colony to investigate why it has dropped out of contact with the Protectorate's array stations.
