An [[Adept weapons|Adept]] version of this weapon, that is able to equip Adept mods, receives extra stats from masterworking and has a slightly different appearance, can be acquired from the Flawless chest when reaching the [[Lighthouse]] after a Flawless victory (seven consecutive games won).

*The manufacturer of Whistler's Whim is unknown. While it possesses the [[VEIST]] Stinger Origin Trait, there is nothing in game to suggest this is a VEIST weapon, unlike other [[Cult of Osiris]] weapons such as [[Reed's Regret]], which show a very clear overlay on the weapon inspection screen.
**Its base model, [[Whispering Slab]], is part of the Dark Omolon weapon set. Dark Omolon weapons are [[Omolon]] weapons corrupted by the Umbral Recaster. However, Omolon has never manufactured a Bow.
