After the first two tiers of the event have finished, any participating players must head to the large gates on the side of the area opposite to the spawn point, where they have to plant the Nightmare Harvester to begin the final encounter. Once it has been planted, the Nightmare of Elykris will spawn, with many Scorn reinforcements arriving with it to provide support. The boss possesses the same weapons and abilities as the Baroness did, coming armed with a large Scorn Cannon that shoots powerful, long-ranged Solar blasts, as well as being able to fire large volleys of missiles from the rocket launcher pack on her back when she crouches down. These missiles will all home in on one specific target and will drain a large amount of their health, or even kill them if they do not find cover quickly. If a player gets too close, the boss will pull out two rockets and slam them down on the ground, causing an explosion and dealing significant damage to anyone caught in the blast. Large hordes of Scorn will spawn continuously to assist in repelling the Guardian incursion.

Once the Nightmare of Elykris has lost a quarter of its health, it will enter a state of invincibility. Two Major Abominations called "Emissaries of Elykris" will also arrive, which are both protected by immunity shields. Participants will have the objective of destroying all six of the Resonant Splinters that spawn throughout the surrounding area. Neutralizing the Splinters will cause the Emissaries' shields to dissipate, allowing you to take them out. After the Abominations have been eliminated, the boss will return to its vulnerable state and you may continue with the battle. This process will have to be repeated a second time when the Nightmare becomes invincible once again. During each of these phases, an Elite Solar Chieftain called a "Night Terrors" will spawn, distinguished by their glowing, white aura. These enemies will drop Cores of Dread when they die, which can be deposited at the Harvester to manifest Scythe relics to use in battle against the boss and its forces. If you are successful in defeating the Nightmare of Elykris before time runs out and the event finishes automatically, any who participated may collect gear from the opulent chest that spawns. You can also spend five-hundred Vestiges of Dread to obtain more powerful loot from the Harvester.
