The Iron Champion[edit]

File 1[edit]

A Lightbearer who represents the Iron Lords in one-on-one duels against Warlords.

The Iron Champion is a unique title granted by the Iron Lords, and its holder one of a kind among its ranks.

All manner of legends surrounding the champion, Lady Jolder, have spread around the Iron Lords' territories. Some of her heroic feats have been subject to some unavoidable exaggeration, but there is one tale that nobody doubts: Lady Jolder became Iron Champion by defeating all of her fellow Iron Lords in one-on-one duels.

File 2[edit]

A Lightbearer who represents the Iron Lords in one-on-one duels against Warlords.

The Iron Champion is a product of war, intended to put an end to it. Wanting to avoid more unnecessary casualties, Lord Radegast issued a challenge to all Warlords: a fair one-on-one to decide the outcome of an entire battle. This meant the Iron Lords needed to select a duelist who couldn't—wouldn't—lose.

In her first years as a Lightbearer, Lady Jolder was held captive by a Warlord named Yekaterina and forced to fight in her ring called "the Kraav." This hardship would forge her into the master duelist she is today. Ever since she took the title of Iron Champion, she has never once let her allies down, for she has defeated every Warlord who has dared to accept her challenge.

Iron Wolves[edit]

The Iron Lords' hand-picked second-in-command and successors.

Lightbearers may possess immortal bodies, but after experiencing the cruelties of the Dark Age, the Iron Lords know all too well that their lives are not necessarily without end. They may not fear death, but they know that the Iron Banner's ideals must survive even if they do not. Thus, each Iron Lord picks a trusted Lightbearer to uphold their ideals in their stead if misfortune befalls them.

Veridia's Miners[edit]

The most represented occupation among Veridia's residents.

In the Dark Age, Veridia was one of the most important logistical support areas for the Iron Lords, as the high-quality minerals mined here provided a solid foundation for the Iron Lords' battles. However, with the arrival of Cabal, the mining zone fell into enemy hands, and they were struggling to maintain the Sentinel's Light barrier due to lack of Radiancite. Driven by both their values and the pressure to survive, the miners here are willing to risk being captured and venture deep into the mines to being back Radiancite—the key to their protection.

The Veridia Union[edit]

The actual governing body of Veridia, composed of representatives from each of Veridia's industries.

In peacetime, these elected leaders representing the town's different industries would hold regular meetings to discuss matters and, ultimately, come to a final agreement through democratic means under the union president's leadership.

This parliamentary model had already taken shape during Lord Gareth's rule over Veridia. Afterwards, Gareth was nominally only the military leader of Veridia—until he succumbed to madness and monopolized power, at which the union, too, existed in name only. After Gareth was ultimately overthrown, the people restored the original political model.

Veridian Transport Team[edit]

A team of drivers in Veridia, responsible for transporting ore.

The Red Sea Rift's mines are somewhat far from Veridia. Once Radiancite is mined, it's loaded onto the trucks to be transported back to town, where it's used to power the barrier on the Sentinel's hand.

The team is typically formed of three people and three trucks. Its members have at least basic combat capabilities, and the schedule isn't set. Given the smaller scale of their operation and flexible timetables, the team's transport success rate is near 90%.

The White Tiger General[edit]

An exclusive title held by the general of the Samarkand militia.

When the Lightbearer Xuan Wei served the Warlord Kāmihā, he was dispatched to Samarkand to stop the advance of Iron Lord Timur and his army. Following his arrival, Xuan Wei trained the local militia into a powerful and disciplined troop of elites, which he called the "Tiger's Claws" in reference to the Eastern guardian deity of soldiers, the White Tiger. Naturally, "White Tiger General" became the title held by the troop's leader.

Randiancite Smugglers[edit]

Traders who ignore Veridia's restrictions on the ore trade, privately transporting and selling both Radiancite and relegate materials.

The rarer, more valuable, and more difficult to obtain the object is, the more these hyenas are drawn to it. What they're chasing is never the differentials of legal market prices, but the completely unregulated profits available through the black market.

Veridia's Unemployed Miners[edit]

Downtrodden people who lost their jobs when the Cabal occupied many of the Red Sea Rift's mines.

For them, things like adequate food and clothing are but the most basic of difficulties they face. Most unemployed miners have little choice but to give up their dignity in order to make a living… Others, however, have chosen to set aside their morals.
