They serve as one of the bosses of the [[The Nether|Nether]] activity.

==Gameplay==
Kelrosh, Spawn Keeper will be encountered in the lower depths of the Maelstrom as the final boss after Guardians have completed a specific amount of required objectives. The Taken Ogre will fire Arc blasts of Rotten Surge at their opponent and will continuously summon forth different variants of [[Dire Taken]] which possess different abilities from their typical counterparts. Upon losing half of its health, Kelrosh will manifest an Immunity Shield to protect itself from any damage. Moreover, the force field protecting the Taken Clusters will dissipate. Destroying the Clusters around the area will dispel Kelrosh's Immunity Shield and allow the Guardians to damage the Spawn Keeper. Once Kelrosh, Spawn Keeper is slain the encounter is complete, permitting the fireteam to collect their rewards and continue forward onto the next objective.
