===Survival Alone===
The Vex got smart, too smart and they created a massive jam field so the Swamp Crawlers couldn't communicate with high command. Then the engines of their only Warship broke down. Whether it was Vex sabotage or something else is unknown, but it left the legion stranded. The three Harvesters they had didn't have the fuel to make it anywhere far and they'd likely get shot down by Cyclops emplacements. However the Swamp Crawlers bit back, hard. The Vex could never find the location of their HQ, and while they searched they were constantly ambushed by Cabal kill teams. Eventually, a group lead by Valus Ta’rocc managed to find and kill three Axis Minds and they mounted their heads on the walls of their base so that when the Vex eventually found them, they would understand their danger. They knew the Vex couldn’t fear, so they wanted them cautious as it was the next best thing. Meanwhile, the House of Winter was slowly devolving into the House of Dusk. As they did so, the Swamp Crawlers did everything they could to piss them off. Bombing Skiffs, burning Ether Storage, and lining up Fallen Vandals and Captains against walls so they could execute them. They always left Dregs alive so they could send a message, stay away from our turf. However, the Swamp Crawlers weren’t invincible and they took heavy loses. Their numbers couldn’t be replenished and they were dwindling, so the squads that left the fortress began to be smaller and the Sol Divisive began to predict their moves. They wouldn’t last, despite the good fight they were keeping up.

===Encountering the Guardian===
While Valus [[Forge]] and [[The Guardian]] were searching for the location of a presumably abandoned Cabal ship on Venus with valuable tech, they found a downed Harvester. There, three Legionaries were fighting off a new melee type of Vex but were killed. A dying soldier saw the Imperial Cabal approach and also saw the humans, so he raised a gun at the humans but was stopped by one of the Legionaries who explained in Ulurant who they were. He gave them coordinates to the base and told them to hurry because the Vex were planning a large attack.
Arriving at Terrabase Umbra, they found that the Cabal in the trenches were being pushed back and the Scorpius were being destroyed. The arriving Imperial Cabal forces and the Guardian managed to save them, and they met with the Primus.
