- "Judgment was passed long before you were found."
When Hive law is broken beyond pardon, the Justiciars are called.
Justiciars are Ascendant Knights bound not to ambition, but to enforcement. They do not debate doctrine, nor do they weigh innocence against guilt. That work belongs to Wizard courts, brood queens, and ascendant authorities. The Justiciar arrives only after the verdict is sealed.
Their duty is singular: ensure that sentence becomes reality.
Executioners hunt the marked. The Hated perform ritual punishment. Justiciars ensure neither fails.
They intervene in matters of high heresy—necromancy without sanction, defiance of the worm, corruption of tithe, or crimes whose consequences threaten more than one brood. Where delay risks contagion, a Justiciar may deliver judgment personally, binding fate as firmly as any blade.
Slaying a Justiciar outside the Ascendant Plane is meaningless. Their resolve is anchored elsewhere, in throne worlds stripped of glory and excess, built only to endure. They do not grow stronger through worship or conquest, but through repetition: verdict after verdict, carried out without exception
