Quest

Quests are a gameplay feature introduced in The Dark Below. Quests are specific challenges that are unlocked by completing more quests, with a set reward at the end. Quests can only be played one time per character, and may take the form of a sort of bounty to be completed across a variety of different activities.

For example, Eris Morn offers a series of quests to Guardians that unlock new content and reward unique items. The first three quests are story missions, with a unique fusion rifle as the reward. She then offers two different quests; one involves hunting enemies in patrol to unlock the Will of Crota strike, and the other involves a unique version of Chamber of Night called the Ritual of Sacrifice.

Quests will have a major overhaul with the release of The Taken King. This affects quests from previous content, including extending them to the base game. Any quests that the player has abandoned (or else, has not picked up yet during Year 1) can be obtained in the Hall of Guardians in the Tower.

Legend of the Hunter/Titan/Warlock

The Tale of a Hunter/Titan/Warlock on a path out of the Darkness.

The tale of the Guardian's trials with the Arc Blade.

Fruit of the Garden

The story of the Mysterious Stranger and her tale of the Black Garden. Activates upon completing Chamber of Night

The Dark Below

The story of Eris Morn and her fight against the Hive god Crota.

Quests are available in the following order:

• Fist of Crota
• Siege of the Warmind
• The Wakening

Reward: Murmur, a unique legendary Fusion Rifle that can switch between damage types.

Then the player has the choice of two different quest paths (both can be completed)

Disciples of Crota:

• The Extermination - Kill Knights and Wizards.
• Hand of Crota - Find and kill the Hand of Crota
• Heart of Crota- Find and kill the Heart of Crota
• Eyes of Crota - Find and kill the Eyes of Crota
• Will of Crota - complete Will of Crota

Reward: Unlocks the Will of Crota strike

Urn of Sacrifice:

• Urn of Sacrifice - Purchase an Urn from Xur
• Gather their Dust - Kill Thralls with Solar damage.
• Gather their Faith - Kill Acolytes and Wizards with Void damage.
• Gather their Fury - Kill Cursed Thralls with melee attacks.
• Gather their Suffering - Kill Urzok, the Hated.
• Ritual of the Forsaken - Complete the Ritual of Sacrifice.
• Eyes of the Forsaken - Take the Urn to Xur and give the Eyes to Eris.

Reward: Unique legendary guantlets (depends on class)

House of Wolves

The story of the Awoken and their campaign against the House of Wolves.

Most of the quests follow the storyline of the House of Wolves.

• The Hunt for Skolas - complete A Kell Rising.

Reward: Vestian Dynasty

• Gone to Ground - Search for shiplinks while on patrol on Venus. Then, complete The Silent Fang and The Ruling House.

At this point, two quests become available simultaneously.

• The Kell of Kells - complete Wolves' Gambit and Queen's Ransom.

Reward: Royal Amethyst, acess to Prison of Elders

• The Shadow Thief - complete The Shadow Thief.

Reward: Royal Amethyst, unlocks The Shadow Thief strike

One other quest becomes available from the Wanted Bounty for Skoriks, Archon-Slayer. It can be replayed so long as the bounty is available.
