Dreadnaught

The Dreadnaught is a ancient, massive Hive spaceship that serves as the fortress of Oryx, the God-King of the Hive for over millenia. It orbits Saturn.[1]
The Dreadnaught has a massive parabolic dish built into its starboard side which appears to be the emitter of some sort of super-weapon, capable of decimating fleets and even destroying a portion of Saturn's rings. As the weapon charges, energy travels laterally along the Dreadnaught's hull from each end until it reaches the dish, where it is collected and released in a devastating spherical pulse that expands outward from the ship, destroying or severely damaging anything in its path.[2]
The Dreadnaught is a massive destination with its own patrol mode and other activities. The Dreadnaught includes many raid-like secret locations and puzzles that players can revisit and solve to earn special rewards. Players will not only have to find a way inside the Dreadnaught in story missions, but also plant the beacons to be used later in patrol.[1] Though it is a Hive ship, there are many Taken on board, as well as a Cabal strike team engaging both the Hive and Taken.[3]

The player's ship approaches Saturn, where the effects of the main weapon can clearly be seen. (It should be noted that Saturn's middle or "B" Ring is actually brighter than the inner "C" and "D"rings, instead of the reverse shown here. Based on the width of the "C" ring (approx 17500 km), we can deduce that the blast radius of the weapon is in the vicinity of 15000 km.
