Destiny 2 is an open-world multiplayer first-person shooter title video game developed by Bungie. It is the sequel to the shared-worlds FPS Destiny, and was released on September 6, 2017 on the Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 platforms. It was released on October 24, 2017 for PC.[6][2] The PC version requires the Blizzard App to launch, and features cross-platform functionality with other Blizzard titles. This includes using "Blizzard Balance" to purchase features of the game, and cross-platform chat functionality.[7] The game has a free trial until level 8 is reached.

Development

Work began on the game in November 2014, just after the release of the original game.[8] It was reportedly rebooted in May of 2016.[9]

Destiny 2 was revealed worldwide on March 30, 2017.[10][11] The Destiny 2 Beta for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 lasted from July 18 through July 23, 2017. A PC version of the beta was open from August 28 to August 31.[4]
