"He has spoken to me of his plans for this universe. And it calls for your death."
— Xal Tinar, addressing the Guardians.

Xal Tinar, Voice of the Nastarteh is the leader of the Taken group known as the Blessed.

History

Xal was titled as a Techeun close to when Mara Sov had become the House of Wolves' new Kell. Considered inexperienced compared to his Techeun sisters, he was determined to prove himself. This would lead him to study whatever arcana he could find from the Origin Libraries. From there, he seemed to hear a strange whisper that would tell him he would find great power.

Following the Taken War and the supposed death of Mara Sov, Tinar would become fascinated with the Taken. He would be one of the Techeuns to create the Desolates; their minds conduits to imbue the Taken's power into armor and weapons. Tinar would become highly proficient in the act due to his newfound ability to "hear the Taken's whispers". This allowed him to complete the Desolate process much easier compared to other Techeuns, earning him much recognition from many among the Awoken.

However, in time, something began to change in Tinar. As he continued with the transfer of Taken's power, he seemed to hear a whisper from their deaths. A word. "Nastareth". From there, Tinar would dive headfirst into understanding what the Nastareth was. For every Taken he used to hear the Whispers again, he grew more and more fanatical. The Desolates he crafted from them would grow more and more unstable for anyone but him to wield.

Eventutally, Petra found that he was too much of a liability and a danger to the Awoken as a whole. And so, along with the dissolution of the Desolate project, Xal Tinar would be exiled from the Vestian Web.
