A Mote of Light is an item Guardians collect by collecting experience (post-level 20), accessing chests, decrypting decoherent engrams or receiving them through the crucible (post match). Motes of Light can be traded in to the Speaker for Legendary-level Emblems and Class Items; and can also be traded for Exotic armor engrams from Xur.[1] They will be able to be traded in to Lord Saladin for weapon re-forging in an upcoming Iron Banner event.[2]

Exotic Engrams from Xur- The Tempuring Buff from Saladin
- Gear Reforges from Saladin
- Osiris Coins from Brother Vance
- Weapon Reforges from Banshee-44
