They figure prominently in [[Gambit]] and [[Gambit Prime]], where the objective is to collect Motes from slain enemies and stockpile them in a bank. When a sufficient number of Motes are deposited at once, a bank can be used to summon [[Taken]]; filling a bank completely allows it to summon a [[Primeval]].
