The largest of these detachments crowded Nessus where the Empress had touched down an Imperial Land Tank the Halphas Electus along with a series of Bunkers. Lead by a former Legionnaire and Commander of the Red Legion, Commander Dracus sought to assert himself worthy through the Rites of Proving. Defending the Halphas Electus, Dracus and a large group of Cabal fought valiantly against the Guardians yet fell nonetheless and had their tribute pillaged. With a War Fleet settled over Europa, another aspiring champion, Basilius the Golem, sought to exploit the secrets of the Deep Stone Crypt to create Exo-Legionnaires yet had also fell to Guardian fireteams breaking through the Legion's defenses. Enraged by the fall of their homeworld, the Red Legion gathered under the command of one of their last remaining officers, Val Ma'rag, and began to besiege the Cosmodrome and flush it out of its Hive inhabitants as a symbolic victory and to potentially erect a firebase. In the shadows of the broken Red Legion, a Conclave of independent Psions and Cabal would form in Amtec's name seeking retribution. The Conclave would meddle in secrecy before acting in the cover of Empress Caiatl's advent to the system. Whether it be from under Caiatl and using the information for their own purposes or creating it on their own and pinning it in her name, the Conclave struck a vault in the Last City belonging to Häkke where they salvaged the remains of the Traveler Cage. Understanding the inability to destroy The Last City, Yirix would instead seek crippling of its leadership in Amtec's name. Gathering the Conclave under her, Yirix and the cell worked in secret - dispatching members to Nessus in the hopes of harnessing the Vex Prediction Engines to assist them in their goal. After amassing the information they had sought, futures in which the Vanguard Commander suffered a final death, the Conclave aimed to destabilize the Guardians and their leadership, using the refined Light-Extraction and Detainment tech derived from Dominus Ghaul to achieve so after having tested it repeatedly in the field.

The assassination attempt would go awry, having been so close to success yet foiled by The Crow with Commander Zavala being warned and killing the Psion assassin. The attempt was seen as committed on Caiatl's behalf with the Cabal Empress claiming it had not been her. Despite the failed attempt, the Conclave would not languish and continue its operations in secrecy. It is unknown if Amtec continues to lead the Conclave or if Yirix has taken place in her stead. It is also unknown that if Amtec is even alive nor if she continues to masquerade as Commander amongst the Red Legion.
