Shortly after the Young Wolf returned from the Pyramid, Vex began pouring out of a gate to the [[Black Garden]] on the Moon and invaded the lunar surface. A team of Guardians entered the gate and slew two powerful Vex minds within and discovered traces of the Darkness. Their success caused the mysterious Darkness artifact to come to life and emit another message. Eris was visited by the Young Wolf and explained what had occurred before declaring the Darkness meant to play them as puppets listening only to what it said. She dismissed the messages from the Darkness as manipulation and warned them not to trust anything the Darkness said and to discard further messages. She worried that these messages were meant as a means to distract the Guardians from their task and sow seeds of doubt so that the Darkness could win against them.
