:I don't think there is any distinction. Though Crota is older than the Warpriest (as evidenced the Warpriest only gaining notoriety between the Golden Amputation and the Gift Mast, while Crota appears much earlier in the Books of Sorrow) the Warpriest demonstrates more tactical skill and power than Crota. At the very least he tithes directly to Oryx and is a member of his Court while Crota was banished as penance for letting in the Vex.
