In order to enter the [[Ascendant Realm]] of [[Oryx, the Taken King]], the [[Guardian]] must become an Ascendant [[Hive]]. [[Eris Morn]] advises that in order to achieve this, the Guardian needs the essence of an Ascendant Hive. The first step is acquiring a shard of the crystal that the Hive use to contain their souls; fortunately, one such shard can be found in the [[Chamber of Night]], where the [[Soul of Crota]] was [[The Wakening|defeated]].
