Dark Ether: Difference between revisions

'''Dark Ether''' is a corrupted variant of [[Ether]] used and manufactured by the [[Scorn]] from Fikrul's body. Created when [[Uldren]] unintentionally wish to [[Riven]] to resurrect a dead [[Fikrul, the Fanatic|Fikrul]], seemingly having his Ether infused with the [[Darkness]] itself, this substance is the source of the Scorn's strange powers. Most notably, the Scorn Baron known as [[Fikrul, the Fanatic|the Fanatic]] can use the substance to resurrect dead [[Eliksni]] and [[Scorn]], including himself, while [[Elykris, the Machinist|the Machinist]] can do the same from [[Public Event|Ether Rituals]].  

The Scorn thrive off of Dark Ether, the disturbing, corrupted form of Ether capable of resurrecting dead Fallen at the cost of severely mutating them, though it seemingly does nothing to living Fallen. Resurrected individuals appear to be able to survive without a head, as shown by [[Ravager|Ravagers]] and [[Abomination|Abominations]]. Repeated resurrection have a physical toll on the user, leading to progressive growth of tumor-like growths and increasing mental derangement. Eventually, Eliksni who have undergone many resurrections will become [[Screeb|Screebs]], mindless, quadrupedal, Thrall-like monstrosities who throw themselves at enemies and self-destruct in a blast of Dark Ether. It lingers instead of dissipating like normal Ether, and is described by [[Variks, The Loyal|Variks]] as a fog-like gas that you move through like water, heavy and opaque.
