A few days after the Almighty's destruction, the fleet of [[Pyramids]] Rasputin was tracking close in on the system, with one of them landing on Io. After Rasputin's failed attempt to shoot the Pyramid down, he summons Eris to provide intel on the Pyramid. Eris ignores him and goes to the landing site of the Pyramid, so he sends the Guardian after her. They find her and bring her to the City, where she tells Zavala that [[Savathûn, the Witch-Queen]] is jamming messages being broadcast from the Pyramid. Zavala tries to talk her out of it, but Eris returns to the [[Cradle]] to find a way past the Witch-Queen's jamming and learn what the Pyramid is trying to tell them. | |||
Later, Zavala meets with the [[Future War Cult]], [[Dead Orbit]], and [[New Monarchy]] representatives. Along with Ikora, he tells them of Rasputin's defeat and their Hidden asset studying the new threat. Despite the gravity of the situation, each factions wants things to be done their way, putting their desire for more influence ahead of the danger. Zavala placates them by offering access to their intel on the lunar Pyramid and Rasputin's damaged systems in exchange for their aid with preparations for the new threat. It works, and as they disperse, Ikora warns that he is offering too many concessions. He counters that the Pyramid matters more than faction politics before instructing her to reach out to Eris, as he can't predict how the groups will react when they learn she is their agent on Io. | |||
