Books of Sorrow
Biography
The Books of Sorrow briefly describe them as being partially responsible for the extermination of the Taishibethi species, standing upon the Raven Bridge and killing Taishibethi for a decade. At the Golden Amputation they were punished for tithing their kills to one another and not Oryx.
The Books of Sorrow briefly describe them as being partially responsible for the extermination of the Taishibethi species, standing upon the Raven Bridge and killing Taishibethi for a decade. They also participated in the Hive’s war against the Harmony and, while they succeeded in taking down the Gift Mast, they were punished for tithing their kills to one another instead of Oryx. Mengoor was punished by having their comrade turned into a Taken, bound to the will of Oryx, and thus having to direct both Cleaver and companion in accordance to the wishes of the Taken King.

When the Taken King brought the Dreadnaught into the Sol System, Mengoor and Cra'adug would be summoned into the Court of Oryx and defeated by Guardians looking to extinguish Oryx's power.

Gameplay
Mengoor and Cra'adug appear together in the Court of Oryx Public Event when summoned with a Tier 1 offering, or with another member of the Court in Tier 2. Mengoor relentlessly charges towards their foes, using their Cleaver to strike in melee. The two summon Taken Phalanxes to force foes away from themselves. To make the dyad Knights vulnerable, players have to trick them into staying close to each other, which will make them lose their shields. Once one of the Knights is dead, the other will remain vulnerable until slain.
