Though the Traveler would be claimed by the Witness, the Vanguard Coalition remained determined to find a way to follow it and prevent it from enacting the Final Shape. However, following Titan's return and reuniting with [[Deputy Commander Sloane]], handling a surge of Xivu Arath's forces in the process, the Vanguard discovered that a Lucent Hive command ship had entered Titan's atmosphere and then descended within the depths of the moon's methane seas.
