Both Zavala and Ikora are saddened and enraged at the loss of their fireteam comrade and friend. Ikora swears that Uldren Sov must pay for his crimes and proposes the plan to storm the Reef to kill Uldren. Zavala, however, while equal in his grief, feels that Last City and the Guardians do not have the strength to conduct such an assault. Thus, the Titan Vanguard believes that they must focus on their people and not on vengeance, thereby declaring the Reef off-limits, despite the Warlock Vanguard's objections. Against Zavala's wishes however, the Guardian vows to go to the Reef and kill Uldren on their own.

The Guardians, unsupported from the Vanguard, make wary alliances and face a great deal of struggles to hunt down Uldren and his Barons. Nonetheless, the Guardian succeeds in taking out the Scorn Barons, dismantle their operations within the Tangled Shore and make their way to Uldren within a mysterious Awoken structure, the Watchtower. After a dangerous battle with a monstrous Taken Chimera creature, the Voice of Riven, Uldren is left weakened and at the mercy of the Guardian, who recovered the Ace of Spades, and Petra Venj. Though Petra claims to know what Cayde would do with Uldren ready to be killed, the rouge prince asks the Guardian on what they think the Hunter Vanguard would do. After a moment of silence and soul-searching thought, the Guardian aims the Ace at Uldren, who accepts his fate. A gunshot ends the Reef Awoken traitor and avenges Cayde-6.

The screen fades, and a gunshot signifies the end of the Reef Awoken traitor, avenging Cayde-6. While it is not shown who fired the shot that killed Uldren Sov, through Petra Venj's description of the Vestian Dynasty, it is implied that Petra Venj killed Uldren Sov.

Though Cayde's killer had been dealt with and the Scorn's plots have been ruined, a somber and uncertain mood as blanketed the denizens of the Tower, as the Hunter's are without a leader and Zavala feels that Uldren's death will have consequences in the future. Ikora, while grateful to the Guardians for avenging her friend and comrade, also feels uncertain on what's in store in the future.
