The Vanguard began to take a more active role during the SIVA Crisis when old adversaries began to reappear, such as Taniks, [[Omnigul]] and [[Sekrion, The Nexus Mind]]. Overseen by [[Ikora Rey]] and "supported" by [[Cayde-6]], the Guardians were able to destroy [[Taniks Perfected]] after he was resurrected by the Devil Splicers using SIVA.
