'''Season of Defiance''' was the 20th season of ''Destiny 2'' and the first seasonal content of the ''Lightfall'' annual pass, which began with the launch of the Lightfall expansion on February 28th, and ended on May 23rd. The story consist of the [[Vanguard]] and the combined forces of [[The Coalition]] dealing with the aftermath of [[The Witness]]'s assault on [[The Traveler]] and the subsequent invasion of the [[Shadow Legion]] on [[Earth]]. Now anointed as the new [[Royal Awoken Guard|Queensguard]] of [[Mara Sov]], [[Guardians]] must embark on covert operations with the assistance of the [[Awoken]] queen to traverse the [[Ascendant Realm]] and rescue captive prisoners from [[Calus]]’ forces.
