Volmâr, the Tempted is a Wizard seen as a secret boss in the Pit of Heresy, where she is seen within one of The Pit's dark chambers. Seen at the end of the dark path that would lead to the creation of the Xenophage, she holds onto a remnant of the fallen Hunter Omar Agah.[1]

Gameplay

At the start of the encounter, Volmâr will be impervious to all damage, raining down her Darkness Blasts on her enemies. Positioning herself in the center of the arena, she will defend the Light charge in the center while calling in Hive support to defend the Elemental pedestals. She cannot be damaged in any way; to deal damage to the Wizard, players must look at their buffs, where they will see that they will either have Fiery Dread, Thunderous Dread, Abyssal Dread, or Neutral Dread. These buffs will indicate which elemental pedestal the center charge of Light must be placed for that specific person. Placing the charge in the incorrect place (mismatching with the dread) will apply the Unclear Path debuff, which will slow the player and obscure their vision, which can make them a susceptible target to Volmâr or her backup. After correctly placing the charge at the matching pedestal (top left - Abyssal, top right - Fiery, bottom left - Thunderous, and bottom right - Neutral), the player is free to damage Volmâr with a matching elemental weapon or ability (Abyssal - Void, Fiery - Solar, Thunderous - Arc, Neutral - Kinetic).

Trivia

  • Although she is a member of the Hidden Swarm, she has the model of a Savathûn's Brood Wizard. As all the Hive on the Moon had amalgamated into the Hidden Swarm before the events of Shadowkeep, it could mean she was previously a member of Savathûn's Brood, or used to belong to the Hidden Swarm and changed her loyalties once Savathûn took indirect control of the Swarm as described in Inquisition of the Damned.
