Valus Thu'ur, Vessel of Nightmares is the Nightmare of a powerful Cabal Colossus Valus, under the control of Emperor Calus. It is encountered on board the Derelict Leviathan as part of the Nightmare Containment Public Event.

Gameplay

Valus Thu'ur serves as the Tier 1 boss of the Nightmare Containment Public Event. If you are successful in completing the first three waves, the massive Colossus will spawn at the Nightmare Harvester. Thu'ur wields a Heavy Slug Thrower into battle, which fires bullets rapidly and will quickly drain players' health if they do not cover. It is also capable of launching barrages of Cluster Missiles that create slowness fields upon impact, making its enemies easier to hit. The Nightmare has a powerful stomp attack that it will use if anyone gets too close, knocking them back and dealing significant damage. The boss is also extremely durable and can take a lot of firepower. You can make more of a progress on it, however, by picking up Unstable Essence from killing other Nightmares, or if there are other Guardians participating in the event. Upon losing a half of its health, Thu'ur will summon an immunity shield, rendering itself completely invulnerable to any and all attacks. Players must destroy the two Resonant Splinters that are located in the air around the Nightmare Harvester in order to lower the boss's defenses, after which, you may return to fighting it. If players manage to kill the Vessel of Nightmares before time runs out, Tier 1 of the Public Event will immediately come to an end, but failing does not make a difference in terms of progressing to next level.
